Opened in 2022, the Museum of the Future is a steel torus wrapped in Arabic calligraphy, standing beside Sheikh Zayed Road. It’s one of the most photographed buildings in the world — and inside, it’s a journey into how we might live decades from now.

The building
The oval shape symbolises humanity, the empty centre represents the unknown future, and the raised base stands for the earth. The windows are formed by calligraphy quoting lines by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum about the future. A guide can read and translate the calligraphy for you — most visitors never know what it says.
What’s inside
Exhibitions are spread over several floors and are designed as immersive experiences rather than glass cases. Themes typically include space travel, the health of our planet, wellbeing and technology, with an area for children. Exhibits are refreshed over time, so check what is showing before your visit.
