This policy explains how Gulf Tourism (“we”) handles personal data when you use gulftourism.ae. We process personal data in line with applicable UAE law, including Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data.
Data we collect
- Travellers: name, email address, phone number, billing details, booking details (tour, date, number of guests) and reviews you write.
- Guides: name, contact details, profile information and photo, Emirates ID and tour guide licence (for verification only), licence number and expiry date, and bank details for payouts.
- Everyone: messages you send us and technical data such as IP address and browser type, used for security and to keep the site working.
We do not store full payment card details. Card payments are processed by our payment provider.
How we use it
- To create and manage your account and bookings.
- To share the details a guide needs to deliver your tour (your name, phone number, number of guests and booking details) with that guide.
- To verify guides’ identity and licences.
- To process payments, refunds and payouts.
- To send booking confirmations and service emails, and to answer your messages.
- To keep the Platform secure and prevent fraud.
Identity documents
Guides’ identity documents are stored in a private area that is not publicly accessible and can be viewed only by our verification team. We delete the document files once verification is complete, keeping only the verification result, licence number and expiry date.
Sharing
We share personal data only with the guide or traveller involved in a booking, service providers who help us run the Platform (such as hosting, email and payment providers) under appropriate safeguards, and authorities where required by law. We do not sell personal data.
Retention
We keep booking and payment records for as long as required by UAE law (including tax rules) and other data only for as long as needed for the purposes above.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, or object to certain processing, by contacting us. You can update most account details yourself in My Account.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you logged in, keep your booking in the cart and protect forms against spam. We do not use advertising cookies.
